Refund from American Airlines.

Hi
Has everyone cancelled a non refundable flying with American Airlines within the 24 hour catamenia?
I bought a ticket yesterday but cancelled because I wanted to buy another ticket for a day afterward. It says if y'all abolish inside 24 hours y'all volition get a full refund. I probably cancelled within 18 hours but still concerned they volition not refund me.
When can I expect it show up in my bank business relationship?

Telephone call AA and find out.

I've merely had ane experience of getting a refund from AA, when my carte du jour was charged twice for the aforementioned ticket, but information technology took nigh 4 weeks.
Refunds in airlines are often handled manually by a separate team (mine was), if that is the case for your refund then it might have a while. If it's completely automated for this type of cancellation, information technology might be quicker.

I had a similar situation concluding year where I realised, a couple of hours later booking, that I had booked the incorrect flight.
I cancelled and was never actually charged - I could encounter the accuse every bit a awaiting transaction (hold) on my credit carte account but this only dropped off after about 10 days.
It might exist dissimilar if you used a debit card for this transaction.

I have cancelled a ticket within 24 hours. You can look up the status of your refund on their website. Mine took about 1 week.

Thanks for the replies.
I used a credit card and tin see it now in my pending transactions. Plus information technology has obviously been taken off my bachelor credit. So hopefully information technology volition be similar to yours Tom and just disappear in a few days.

I checked the refund condition on their site. I typed in the thirteen digit number I was given on my confirmation email and they tin can't find my order. I was not given whatsoever other number on my cancellation electronic mail.
On my cancellation email Information technology says the refund volition be processed automatically if it was cancelled within 24 hours, which information technology was. I wonder if this is why they can't find anything when I check my refund condition?

They may take changed their process since the ticket I cancelled was over a year agone. I exercise remember that when I entered my ticket number on their site it also said it couldn't be found. Later on a few days information technology did show up.

I now have ii cancelled flights I am awaiting a refund for.
I have checked both on the status check and they are both actualization now. Both have that my request is in process. And then hopefully it will be ok.
